Fancy cheap vegan Japanese fare? "Cheap" and "Japanese" together must be an oxymoron, right?
Check out this curry udon from Nature Cafe at Suntec City priced at SGD6.50 before GST and service charge (SGD7.65 with GST and service charge). You'll get eggplants, potatoes, ladies' fingers, long beans and mock mutton bathing in a decently thick curry. The curry tastes good, but, it unfortunately doesn't taste like the sweet Japanese curry you'll get from a Japanese curry house or one of those Japanese curry rue products =(
Still, this curry udon makes a good meal when you're in Suntec, which is a bit of a vegan desert. ̶W̶h̶y̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶ ̶L̶o̶v̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶H̶u̶t̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶m̶o̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶e̶a̶s̶t̶?̶
The dishes at Nature Cafe are hit and miss. This one is a "hit" even though it lacked the Japanese curry taste. I will feature a "miss" dish next time ^^
